This will be a life-changing year for Kenny Pickett in more ways than one.
Over the weekend, the Pittsburgh quarterback, 23, announced his engagement to girlfriend Amy Paternoster — one month after he declared for the 2022 NFL Draft.
“Got tired of calling you my girlfriend…here’s to a lifetime with the person I cherish more than anything in the world. You make me a better person and I could not imagine life without you. I love you more forever and always!!” Pickett wrote Sunday on Instagram.
In a series of photos, Pickett is seen on one knee as he pops the question to Paternoster, a fellow athlete and senior at Princeton University. A close-up of Paternoster’s stunning ring appears later in a separate shot
Pickett and Paternoster made their romance Instagram-official in April 2021, sharing the same photo on their pages.
Just last month, Paternoster accompanied Pickett to New York, where he finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting.
“My favorite date,” she gushed at the time, to which Pickett replied, “Same time next weekend.”
Pickett and Paternoster may want to circle Thursday, April 28, on their calendars, which is the first night of the 2022 NFL Draft. NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah projects Pickett to land with the Broncos at No. 9 in a recent mock draft.
For now, it seems the Pittsburgh product and his bride-to-be will be keeping busy with wedding planning.
