MIAMI Dolphins linebacker Jaelan Phillips had an unexpected guest yesterday.
The NFL star, 24, got up close and personal with some Florida wildlife – in his bathroom of all places.
Phillips shared a video on Instagram of an iguana happily chilling in his toilet bowl.
“Man, this is some Florida s**t if I’ve ever seen it,” Phillips said.
“How the hell did he get in there? That man is bathing. In my toilet.
“And he is not a pet. I don’t know where he came from, that’s a grown man.”
Phillips paid $150 to have an exterminator remove his uninvited guest.
He was left wondering if the reptile came up through the toilet “like a Ninja Turtle.”
Phillips missed nine games last season and will hope for more luck this time around in a talented Dolphins defense.
But all eyes are on a high-octane Miami offense led by star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Heading into a contract year, Tagovailoa’s appearance was one of the hot topics as the Dolphins’ OTA’s began amid talks over an extension.
The former Alabama star has reportedly dropped as much as 15 pounds as he looks to gain what head coach Mike McDaniel described as a “competitive advantage.”
Speaking to reporters, McDaniel noted that 2023 was a big season for Tagovailoa, having made it through the entire year uninjured for the first time in his NFL career.
“I think he identified that as one for himself and I think the results speak for themselves,” McDaniel said. “He’s svelte.”
The ex-No. 5 overall NFL pick is expected to come to an agreement with Miami and become one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league.
