Taylor Swift breaks silence on her six Grammy nominations at Eras Tour concert: ‘It’s so unbelievable’

It was revealed last week that Swift, 34, had earned six nods for her 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department — including Album Of The Year — as well as for her duet with rising star Gracie Abrams.

The 13-time Grammy winner made history this time around as she is now the first female artist to be nominated for Album Of The Year a total of seven times.

Swift thanked the 50,000 fans at Rogers Centre for supporting TTPD since its release in April, admitting it is an ’emotional’ album for her.

She also said she was in total disbelief to be up for six awards at the upcoming 2025 Grammys ceremony in LA — tying Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan in nominations.

‘You guys did something so amazing over the course of the last few months. I just mean what you did with embracing The Tortured Poets Department, the album,’ Swift began.

‘It’s truly blown my mind because its really emotional for me that this album, I wrote it during the Eras Tour.’

She spoke about the secrecy surrounding the making of the album and the lengths she went to to keep it a ‘surprise’ for fans.

‘I wrote that album, made that album, all [while] trying to keep it a secret from you guys. And then announced the album, and then we basically were, like, working really hard to secretly put together a new chapter in the Eras Tour of The Tortured Poets Department and we wanted to surprise you with it, and we did,’ Swift explained.

She credited the fans — who refer to themselves as ‘Swifties’ — for making The Tortured Poets Department one of her most successful albums to date.

‘And you guys have been so wonderful about getting into this album and really understanding where I was coming from with it and you made it by far, the biggest debut week I’ve ever had of an album. And you kept that album at number one for nearly four months,’ the Anti-Hero hitmaker told the crowd.

‘And the most recent thing that you did, because everything that happens is a direct reflection of the passion that you show, is you guys got this album nominated for six Grammys.

‘It’s so unbelievable, so thank you,’ Swift concluded.

On November 8, it was announced that The Tortured Poets Department had been nominated for Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal album.

Fortnight featuring Post Malone — which was the lead single off TTPD — is nominated for Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year and Best Music Video.

Rounding out her 2025 nods, Swift and her pop protege Gracie Abrams’ duet Us is up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Swift is up against popular artists like André 3000, Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, Jacob Collier, Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan at the upcoming ceremony.

Only recordings commercially released in the U.S. between September 16, 2023 through August 30, 2024 were eligible for nominations.

Winners will be chosen by the roughly 13,000 singers, songwriters, producers, engineers and others who make up the Recording Academy.

The 2025 Grammy Awards will air February 2 live on CBS and Paramount+ from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

The Grammys have been very generous to Swift since she burst onto the music scene in the early 2000s.

She has already won Album Of The Year four times before: in 2010 for Fearless, in 2016 for 1989, in 2021 for Folklore, and in 2024 for Midnights.

At the 2024 ceremony, Swift surprised fans by announcing The Tortured Poets Department — so there’s already speculation that she may be planning something big if she wins Album Of The Year again in 2025.

In the meantime, Swift is nearly done with her sold-out Eras Tour after nearly two years on the road.

The acclaimed songwriter will hold her final show on December 8 at BC Place in Vancouver.

As for her personal life, Swift has been dating NFL star Travis Kelce, 35, since last summer and she’s fully embraced the duties that come with being a WAG.

Since going public with their romance in September 2023, Swift has attended 17 Kansas City Chiefs games.

Swift has attended every Chiefs home game this season, with Kansas City holding a 5-0 record in those games.

Meanwhile, Kelce and his family have attended several of Swift’s Eras Tour shows — with the singer even bringing her athlete beau on stage in London back in June.

Most recently, Kelce’s older brother Jason, his wife Kylie, their kids and his mom Donna flew to Miami to see Swift perform one of three sold-out shows at the Hard Rock Stadium.

On Thursday, Donna revealed whether or not Swift will be joining the Kelce family for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

The matriarch, 72, admitted that she does not have a big dinner planned for Thanksgiving Day, meaning Swift has to fend elsewhere for the holiday meal.

The lack of a feast of turkey, stuffing, green beans, and much more for Travis Kelce’s mom is due to his team the Kansas City Chiefs playing on Black Friday against the Las Vegas Raiders.

‘I am going to be at a football game. Travis is playing the day after Thanksgiving. You know, football is always the holidays. It’s football’s family,’ Donna said.

‘Not that anything’s planned. I think we’re just going to be at the football game.’
